One Love Skate in Honduras by Sam Peralta a 1L Post

One Love Skate in Honduras by Sam Peralta

This past summer I was able to go to a missions trip to Tegucigalpa in Honduras.  It was such a radical experiences meeting and seeing people from that country and the lifestyle people live there.

People were so generous with what they had and also were very curious about the deeper things of God.  Most of the people we came across were so open and willing for God to move and transform their current situations.

The team was composed of 4 others and we each had interpreters which made going to places and saying things a lot easier.

I took my skateboard on this trip not knowing what to expect but what came out of it was some very power ministry times.

First of all the people were so beautiful.  And I could believe I was skating through the streets of TGU.  I felt like a kid exploring the city and thanked God for all the tricks I landed without falling in public.  I think it made me look cooler to the by standers which made conversations with them easier.

One story from skating the streets of Honduras was we met these two skater guys making crystal bracelets and necklaces.  We told them they should take a break and play a game of skate with me.  So they did.  One had really cool dreads and the other guy had a very stylish tye die tee.
We played a game of skate for like an hour and it was a blast!

As we were skating, the girls on my team got to minister to the skater guys girlfriends and pray for them.  It was so cool how that appointment was made because its not like we were looking for people to talk with, but God brought to us.

Another Story from this trip that was absolutely over the top was when we went into like 2 public schools in a row.  In each of the schools we got to share our story, the gospel, and all about Hawaii and whats it like to live there.  In one of the class rooms were were able to pray and prophesy over the entire class.  Doing that took too long so we couldn’t pray over the other classes but we had a blast!

We then went into another school to run a school assembly.  I was not ready for it but all of a sudden I had a crowd of like 500+ students.

I was able to do some skate board lessons, jump over some kids, and do a some tricks.  Again, thank God cause I landed all of my tough tricks without falling, and most of it first try.  So nerve racking.
We also did some skate races and games and the whole school was amped.

After I was done doing my thing.  I got to encourage the school to live as children of God rather than orphans.  Amy also solidified that point as well as Susan.  It was unreal.  I was so blown away by that experience.

Well thats all I have for now.  Honduras has my heart and I hope to go there again.  We really showed the one love of God and skateboarding.  Hopefully next time you can join us!

Summer 2016 Honduras:

Honduras mission 2016:

First day went into university to pray with Christian club on campus during big protest in Uni though it was a very tense atmosphere we were able to be the light with prayer and worship.
Then went to skate board around the main part of city to make connections and invite youth to our big conference at "Redemzion" our local home church here in TGU.

On our second day we went into a primary school and presented about the gospel in the main assembly.
We then we're able to go and teach in 8 classrooms with over 30+ students in each class. For the first class we got to prophesy over every student !!!
Afterwards we went into a high school and got to minister to the entire school at an assembly specifically set up for our team!
We put on a skate demo, skate lessons, and even a skate contest!!!
Afterwards we shared about identity in Christ and how God wants to do a new thing with this generation in Honduras.
But the best part was continually praying for individuals and staff members non stop.
So in two days we had been over to 3 schools spoke with over 400+ youth, prayed for over 80+people individually with specific words, and have put on two skate demos.

This past 4 days the team was able to minister and pray for close to 400+ individuals. There were many healing’s, words of knowledge and wisdom, deliverance from oppression, and many inner healing in the hearts and minds of the people of Tegucigalpa.

On Friday we were able to minister to the church leadership imparting a lifestyle in the prophetic and exhorting the church body to walk in the inheritance God has paid the price for.
The theme this past week has been about breaking the “orphan” spirt and walking into our identity as sons and daughters of God.
On Saturday we had the conference open to the general public which included people from the street, multiple churches around Honduras, a group from El Salvador, and new visitors who had never been to the church before.
Here we had over 200+ people attend. It was a very powerful time of breaking false beliefs, releasing generational curses and inner vows, and casting off unclean spirits.
It was also very powerful because seeds of new hope were deeply planted and freedom in Christ was revealed.
Many of the congregation had very heavy loads that they were carrying. But the good news is Jesus Christ has paid the price to take these burdens from generations of past away and is giving life, and life to the fullest!

/ shout out to Osman R:

The team has such powerful, miraculous, and unbelievable testimonies from the Conference.
On Sunday we were able to share again on how God wants us to live in His Kingdom as free children who will listen and obey His words. Multiple team members got to share and brought a much needed word on how to change the mindset of the people from a place of poverty to a place of power.
It seems that God is speaking so clear to the team and giving such specific words that will bring transformation to this nation. Thank you for all praying!
On Monday we were taken to the homes of the elderly. We got to dive straight into praying and prophesying over just about every person in that building! We got to pray for over 30+ people as well as workers and administrators.
At the end of that time the administrators were in tears and filled with new hope and dreams to preserver. They were so tired and discouraged, but God was able to use us to bring the encouragement they needed!

There have been so many missions God has brought us here for, one of the major ones I feel is that God has brought us here to breath refreshment and life into the dry and weary places in peoples hearts.

Summer 2016 Canada:

This past summer I had the amazing opportunity to head into the woods, mountains, and streams to decompress this past years worth of anx.
I spent 5 days getting rebooted here (http://www.fatherheart.net/About+Us.html) and was able to still myself from the hurricanes of daily living.

It was one of the life changing events of my life.  (which I should share on another typing session)

But big shout out to these gals:

This is the second summer in a row which was absolutely ridiculous how many mind blowing fun times we had.  We just had two months on Maui beaching it up, surf sessions, hanging with all the crews, ended up on the local newspaper, ran sports camps, and even went to a causal trip to Honduras.
So many tacos, so many food parties, and a ton load of dancing.

This photo was one of the last few days of my Canada trip in Banff.  We already went to amazing local breweries and to top it off appeared on this beautiful landscape, its like we were being hugged by Mountains, and I knew that we kicked another summers ass.  So all the loves to these two and I could not have thought or imagined a better summer.
