Invisible Children Maui Tour 2011 Debrief

Two weeks ago I was privileged to host a group of amazing people from the organization Invisible Children. 
  These four people made up the South Pacific Screening team for their organization.  Maui was the last leg of their tour.  With 100 screenings and presentations under their belt they were such an amazing power team that helped spread awareness about one of the longest running war in Africa.

  They spoke in schools, at our university, talked on the radio, and presented at local churches and venues.  I was very impressed by this teams commitment towards ending this war in Africa.  As we speak Invisible Children is helping to put local radio tours in central Africa that will be used to help small villages communicate to other villages when radical armies are near by.  Helping to warn these villagers and giving them a heads up to escape from near by danger.

 My favorite part of helping to host this team on Maui was working with this girl named Nancey from Uganda.  When she was only 7 her mother was shot and killed by the rebel army as she was sleeping right next to her, as this was going on she saw her father die right before her eyes as he gave his last breath...
  Nancey has to retell and relive this story daily as she goes on advocating the cause of Invisible Children and making real this atrocity to those who come and hear their story.
 I admired her bravery but most of all her trust and gratefulness to the Lord for all the things that has happened in her life.  Good and bad, her life was a powerful testimony to the healing and grace of Jesus Christ.
